Tomsyck > A rare postcard of Schlieffen Kaserne. I bought it in eBay in February 2008. It was sent as Feldpost on 30.9.1940.
Tomsyck > A view of Priesterwald Kaserne on an original postcard that was postmarked on 13 FEB 1942. I believe these 2 buildings still stand today. I purchased this in eBay in December 2007.

Tomsyck > Me at the monument on Utah Beach, Normandy, France, dedicated to the 1st Engineer Special Brigade - where you see that the 237th Engineer Combat Battalion is listed on the bottom. Taken by my son on July 17th, 2007.
Tomsyck > Various shots from Priesterwald Kaserne in Heilbronn, which was merged with Schlieffen Kaserne after WWII to form Wharton Barracks. The 237th Engineer Battalion was housed in most of these buildings.

Tomsyck > A map of Utah Beach in Normandy, France, depicting the D-Day landings on 6 June 1944; where you will see that the 237th Engineers were in the 4th wave (bottom left of the assault force). The arrow shows where they really landed.
Tomsyck > My truck, HQ64 from the front. Note the names stenciled on the bottom of the windshield: SSG Worrell was the supply sergeant back then. This was a great truck, the fastest in the Battalion (tuned by the motor pool) - which was important when on the Autobahn A81 between Heilbronn and Stuttgart for supply runs.
